Document Sourcing Specialist – Compliance Analyst (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Document Sourcing Specialist who will act as a Compliance Analyst to ensure that publicly available documents are sourced and used in line with licensing requirements. This fully remote, hourly‑contract position supports our data‑driven teams by providing accurate metadata and compliance documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Search and retrieve documents from government archives, academic repositories, and open datasets.
• Verify licensing types and document compliance with open‑source and usage policies.
• Maintain detailed records of metadata, source links, and license information.
• Identify and flag ownership issues, unclear licensing, or restricted content.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve sourcing and compliance challenges.
• Stay current on open‑data standards, licensing practices, and sourcing strategies.
• Communicate findings to support compliance audits and data‑quality initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail when reviewing complex licensing information.
• Experience in document sourcing, academic research, and public records search.
• Familiarity with open‑source repositories and data platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced remote environment.
• Strong organizational skills for managing large datasets.
