Consulting Controller

About the role

vcfo is seeking a Consulting Controller to join its Austin team and partner with leadership at client companies. You will work across diverse industries, delivering accurate financial reporting and strategic guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with vcfo team members and client leadership in the Austin area.
• Adapt to varied client environments and industries.
• Generate timely and accurate monthly financial statements.
• Manage the full accounting cycle.
• Create and maintain corporate forecasts.
• Lead and mentor accounting staff or work within a team setting.
• Handle multiple, varied client engagements simultaneously.
• Assist in preparing Board packages.
• Develop and refine financial policies and procedures.
• Provide guidance on ERP system use, conversions, and software selection.

Required profile

• BBA in Accounting or Finance (MBA or CPA a plus).
• 7+ years of progressive leadership experience.
• Proven ability to lead Assistant Controllers and junior accountants.
• Experience developing financial policies and procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for managing staff.
