About the role
We are seeking a Community Manager for Hillside Village, a student‑living community in Berkeley. The role oversees daily operations, ensures financial performance, and creates a vibrant living environment for residents.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and monitor the property budget, analyze financial statements and market data.
- Set rent rates, collect payments, process bank deposits and prepare monthly financial reports.
- Approve vendor invoices, verify insurance certificates and coordinate with accounting.
- Manage petty‑cash fund and control expenditures within budget limits.
- Oversee lease administration: approve applications, process renewals, conduct inspections, enforce notices, handle evictions and collect late fees.
- Build relationships with university housing and student affairs officials to stay informed of policies affecting the community.
Required profile
- Experience in multifamily or student‑housing property management.
- Strong understanding of Fair Housing, ADA, Fair Credit Reporting Act and related regulations.
- Ability to lead a team and coordinate daily activities.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
