Climate and Health Intern – Remote

About the role
The Climate and Health Intern will support UNDP’s efforts to integrate climate considerations into health programming. Working remotely, the intern will assist in research, analysis and knowledge‑sharing on how climate change, air pollution and environmental degradation affect health outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct literature reviews and data analysis on climate‑related health determinants such as respiratory illness, heat stress, food insecurity and mental health.
- Support the development of early‑warning systems and policy briefs that align health initiatives with climate‑action goals.
- Assist in tracking and reporting on air‑pollution metrics, including super‑pollutants like black carbon.
- Contribute to the preparation of briefing notes, presentations and reports for UNDP partners and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with UNDP teams, WHO, academia and civil‑society partners to identify best practices and innovative solutions.
Required profile
- Current enrolment in or recent graduation from a degree program in public health, environmental science, climate studies, policy or a related field.
- Strong analytical and writing skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
- Interest in the intersection of climate change and health and commitment to UNDP’s diversity and inclusion principles.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting and meet deadlines.
