About the role
The New Ventures Assistant Manager supports the development and growth of startup companies that commercialize intellectual property owned or created by the Texas A&M University System. Working under direction, the role interfaces with internal and external stakeholders to advance new venture creation and related commercialization activities.
Key responsibilities
- Identify emerging technologies suitable for commercialization through startup formation, collaborating with Texas A&M Innovation staff and faculty.
- Work with New Ventures and Licensing teams to conduct due‑diligence, assessing problem/solution fit, market opportunity, and competitive landscape.
- Prepare formal business plans, due‑diligence memorandums, and documentation required to establish new startup companies.
- Assist in drafting equity‑related documents such as stock agreements, warrant agreements, convertible notes, SAFEs, investor term sheets, and liquidation agreements.
- Track the new‑ventures pipeline from pre‑formation through to scaling.
