Assistant Athletic Director – Internal Operations

About the role

The Assistant Athletic Director – Internal Operations supports the Athletics Department by managing daily operations of the Internal Operations Office and ensuring financial integrity across all athletic programs. This position works closely with the Associate Athletic Director to drive efficiency, oversee camp finances, and uphold compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day activities of the Athletics Internal Operations Office.
• Serve as primary approver of financial documents and drive process improvements throughout the Athletics Business Office.
• Assist the Associate AD in shaping the vision for internal operations and make financial decisions in their absence.
• Supervise the Assistant Manager and Business Coordinator II to ensure accurate financial duties.
• Oversee athletics camp financials, coordinate registrations, deposits, refunds, and reconcile accounts using FAMIS and CYMA.
• Act as the HR liaison for camp staff, handling hiring, background checks, training, payroll issues, and final payouts.
• Represent athletics with the Office of Risk, Ethics, and Compliance for youth programs.
• Reconcile special‑event settlements, tax reporting requirements, and assist in compiling financial reports.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in financial management within a collegiate or athletic environment.
• Ability to supervise staff and ensure timely completion of financial tasks.
• Familiarity with athletics camp operations and university compliance processes.
• Strong organizational and communication skills to liaise with HR, risk, and external partners.
