About the role
The Department of Operational Support is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support the Administrative Section of the Facilities and Commercial Activities Service at United Nations Headquarters in New York. The role involves contract administration, budgeting and finance support for lease agreements and other outsourced services.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with day‑to‑day administration of contracts and lease agreements, monitoring terms, expiration dates and Not‑To‑Exceed amounts.
- Audit contractor invoices, raise requisitions, process purchase orders and ensure timely payment.
- Analyze expenditures against allocated funds and lease terms.
- Prepare cost plans, monitor budget execution, and support the preparation of budget performance reports.
- Draft correspondence and coordinate with the Procurement Division on contract renewals and extensions.
Required profile
- Works under the overall guidance of the Chief of the Administrative Section and direct supervision of the Administrative Officer.
