Adjunct Faculty – Communication Studies

About the role

East Texas A&M University seeks qualified professionals to join the Department of History as Adjunct Faculty in Communication Studies. This part‑time position involves teaching up to two courses (seven semester credit hours) per academic year, either on‑campus, off‑campus, or online, based on student demand.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, facilitate discussions, and design assignments for undergraduate or graduate communication courses.
• Develop and maintain course syllabi that meet departmental and college standards.
• Assess student performance through participation, assignments, examinations, and provide timely feedback.
• Mentor and support students academically.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the department.

Required profile

• Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Communication, Journalism, Digital Media, Sports Media, Strategic Communication, or a closely related field (or a terminal degree for graduate teaching).
• Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Ability to multitask and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
