About the role
The Academic Advisor II supports undergraduate students in the College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences, helping them navigate academic requirements and achieve their career goals. Working with minimal supervision, the advisor fosters student engagement and contributes to retention efforts.
Key responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with students to guide academic planning.
- Clarify program requirements, policies, and procedures.
- Provide accurate information on curriculum changes and degree options.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and campus resources to support student success.
- Apply project‑management principles to coordinate advising initiatives.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least 2 years of academic advising or related experience.
- Familiarity with NACADA core values and academic advising theories.
- Understanding of curriculum structures, degree programs, and student learning outcomes.
- Knowledge of campus and community resources that aid student achievement.
