Maintenance Technician – Gateway at Tempe (Student Living)

About the role

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the Gateway student living community in Tempe. The role involves ensuring that all building systems, grounds, and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for safety, cleanliness, and functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Complete resident work orders and preventative maintenance tasks, diagnosing issues and performing repairs in line with policies and code requirements.
• Manage the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final quality checks.
• Track and replenish maintenance inventory, returning unused items and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly for proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing debris, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, and performing general cleaning and painting as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever possible.
• Participate in safety meetings and complete required OSHA training.

Required profile

• Ability to perform technical and mechanical work safely and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail for inspections, documentation, and inventory management.
• Willingness to follow Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies.
