Service Technician – The Riley

About the role

The Service Technician ensures that the physical aspects of Greystar’s properties, grounds, amenities, and common areas meet the company’s standards for cleanliness, safety, appearance, and functionality. This role supports resident satisfaction and prepares vacant units for new occupants.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing defects and repairing according to policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, maintenance tasks, and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, track usage, return unused items, and notify supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly for proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by picking up trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning, and painting curbs and signage as needed.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing parts when possible and using materials efficiently.
• Participate in safety meetings and adhere to Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies.

Required profile

• Experience performing technical and mechanical work in property or facilities maintenance.
• Ability to follow established procedures, safety guidelines, and code requirements.
• Strong attention to detail for inspections, documentation, and inventory management.

Required skills

• Use of hand and power tools for repairs and installations.
• Basic plumbing and electrical troubleshooting.
• Pressure‑washing equipment operation.
• Painting and surface preparation.
