Senior IT Project Manager / Consultant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager / Consultant to lead complex, enterprise‑level initiatives for a client in Peridot, Arizona. This long‑term contract role requires a strategic leader who can align goals, resources, budgets, and stakeholder expectations while delivering measurable results in both Agile and traditional environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead large‑scale projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring scope, schedule, and quality remain on track.
• Define objectives, work plans, staffing needs, and resource allocations while managing risks and issues.
• Oversee budget planning, resource distribution, and vendor coordination.
• Partner with business stakeholders and clients to gather requirements and refine delivery strategies.
• Coordinate internal teams and external partners, supporting procurement activities such as proposal development.
• Build and guide project teams, assigning responsibilities and fostering technical and functional growth.
• Track progress, monitor milestones, and implement corrective actions when needed.
• Conduct strategic analysis to identify process improvements and support operational changes.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience managing IT projects, including enterprise‑level initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
• PMP or comparable project management certification preferred.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, resources, vendors, and stakeholder communications.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Hands‑on knowledge of Agile Scrum practices.
• Proficiency with Atlassian Jira and related project tracking tools.
