Research Intern – CPAS Implementation

About the role

The United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations is seeking a motivated Research Intern to support the implementation of the Comprehensive Planning and Performance Assessment System (CPAS). This six‑month internship offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing you to contribute remotely or on‑site at the UN premises in New York.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in conducting research on evaluation topics and reviewing existing policies and tools related to performance monitoring.
• Prepare reports, concept papers, policy documents, talking points, articles and other written materials.
• Support the development of peacekeeping mission results frameworks for CPAS.
• Help missions manage CPAS data for communications and reporting.
• Develop CPAS communications and training materials.
• Participate in analysis of mission performance.
• Attend online conferences and meetings, taking detailed notes.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Evaluation Team.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or have completed a graduate programme, or be in the final year of a bachelor’s degree.
• Demonstrated interest in United Nations work and commitment to the UN Charter.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with standard office automation equipment such as scanners and printers.
