Programme Management Officer – Saving Lives Together

About the role

The Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) is seeking a Programme Management Officer to support the Saving Lives Together (SLT) framework. This position will coordinate security‑related programme activities across UN agencies, NGOs and INGOs, ensuring a safer operational environment for humanitarian and development work.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and evaluate the global workplan for the SLT framework, including oversight committee activities.
• Monitor and analyse programme and project development, review documents and reports, and initiate corrective actions.
• Act as the Global SLT Focal Point for UNDSS at Headquarters in New York.
• Maintain contact with the worldwide network of SLT focal points, providing support and responding to field challenges.
• Research, analyse and present information from diverse sources to inform decision‑making.
• Coordinate policy development related to the SLT framework.
