About the role
The Neuroscience Patient Care Technician provides direct patient care within the neuroscience unit of a major academic medical center. This position supports physicians, nurses, and allied health staff by ensuring safe and effective care for patients with neurological conditions.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and record vital signs, neurological status, and patient responses.
- Assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures specific to neuroscience care.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Ensure infection control standards and patient safety protocols are followed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Patient Care Technician preferred.
- Previous experience in a clinical or hospital setting, ideally in neurology or related specialties.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and respond to emergent situations.
- Strong communication skills and a patient‑focused attitude.
Required skills
- Patient monitoring and basic neuro‑assessment techniques.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) documentation.
- Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures.
