Maintenance Technician – The Wyatt (San Diego)

About the role

The Wyatt community is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure that all building systems, grounds, and common areas meet Greystar’s high standards for safety, appearance, and functionality. This onsite role involves responding to resident service requests, performing preventative maintenance, and preparing vacant units for new occupants.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders generated from resident requests and conduct preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing according to safety codes and company policies.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final quality checks.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
• Document all service activities accurately and promptly to maintain clear records.
• Assist with grounds and amenity upkeep by trash removal, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning, and painting of curbs and signage.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing components whenever feasible rather than replacing them.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of property maintenance experience; experience in mid‑rise or high‑rise environments preferred.
• Availability for weekend shifts and on‑call duties; typical schedule Tuesday‑Saturday 9 am‑6 pm, subject to change.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to follow safety procedures, and good communication with residents and vendors.
