Locum Gastroenterology Physician (10‑hour clinic shifts)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Gastroenterology Physician to work on a locum basis, providing comprehensive outpatient care in a busy clinic environment. The role involves 10‑hour shifts from Monday to Friday, handling a high volume of patients and performing advanced endoscopic procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct 20‑30 patient consultations per shift, including diagnostic assessments and follow‑up care.
• Perform therapeutic ERCP procedures and manage related complications.
• Execute endoscopic ultrasound examinations and obtain liver biopsies.
• Carry out PEG placements, esophageal dilatations, and both upper and lower GI endoscopies with therapeutic interventions.
• Provide on‑call beeper coverage with an average of two or more callbacks per week.
• Document assignment details and time entries in the online portal.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or eligible Gastroenterology physician with locum experience.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced clinic setting.
• Willingness to travel and stay on‑site as required.

Required skills

• ERCP diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and liver biopsy techniques.
• Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) placement.
• Esophageal dilatation procedures.
• Upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy with therapeutic capabilities.
