Lead Data Analyst

About the role

The Lead Data Analyst will serve as the technical lead for complex data projects within Texas A&M AgriLife Research, guiding public‑health and nutrition research initiatives. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures data analysis aligns with organizational goals and research standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and leadership for data analysis across multiple research projects.
• Supervise, mentor, and support data analysts and junior statisticians, overseeing task delegation and quality assurance.
• Design, implement, and continuously improve data analysis workflows and best practices.
• Develop and apply advanced statistical models such as multilevel and mixed‑effects models for clustered trials and longitudinal studies.
• Create statistical analysis plans, including power and sample‑size calculations, for diverse study designs.
• Maintain and enhance data collection systems, ensuring data integrity and efficient cleaning procedures.
• Coordinate acquisition, cleaning, merging, and management of data from local, state, and national secondary sources.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading data analysis activities in public‑health, nutrition, or related research settings.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and develop junior analysts or statisticians.
• Strong understanding of research design and statistical methodology.
