Instructor – Management Information Systems (University)

About the role

Tarleton State University seeks an enthusiastic Instructor to teach Management Information Systems within the Department of Marketing and Computer Information Systems. The position is a 9‑month, non‑tenure‑track appointment based on the main campus in Stephenville, Texas, with opportunities to deliver courses both on‑site and online.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and develop the core courses BCIS 1305 (Business Computer Applications) and BCIS 4350 (Management Information Systems).
• Prepare syllabi, lecture materials, and assessments aligned with university standards.
• Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum review, and academic service activities.
• Support students through advising and mentorship, fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of business computer applications and management information systems concepts.
