Instructional Designer II – Workforce Development

About the role

The Instructional Designer II will partner with subject‑matter experts to create high‑impact learning experiences for manufacturing professionals. This role supports Texas A&M Engineering’s workforce development mission by designing, developing, and evaluating course content that aligns with strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct needs assessments and define learning objectives and competencies.
• Develop course outlines, storyboards, narratives, and presentation materials.
• Create formative assessments and evaluate learner performance.
• Ensure all course elements are complete and aligned with approved outlines.
• Maintain systems that promote quality, productivity, and consistency across content.
• Analyze course performance data to determine ROI and identify improvement opportunities.
• Present concepts to internal and external stakeholders and gather client requirements.

Required profile

• Experience working with SMEs to translate expertise into instructional content.
• Strong analytical skills to assess problems, generate solutions, and follow issues through to completion.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting ideas and capturing client needs.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of project deliverables.
