Full-Time Guest Service Agent

About the role

The Guest Service Agent is the first point of contact for guests at The Langham, Chicago. You will deliver professional, courteous service throughout the guest journey, from check‑in to check‑out, while promoting hotel amenities and resolving any concerns.

Key responsibilities

• Register arriving and departing guests using the Front Office operating system.
• Assign rooms based on guest needs, issue electronic keys, and provide welcome folders.
• Process payments, including credit cards, cash, vouchers, and traveler’s checks.
• Accurately post charges to guest accounts and balance the assigned house bank.
• Answer telephone calls, relay messages, and handle guest inquiries.
• Close guest accounts at checkout, assess satisfaction, and negotiate resolutions when needed.
• Maintain calm during busy periods or emergencies and document guest preferences in the Brilliant recognition program.

Required profile

• High school diploma required; college degree in Hospitality or Tourism preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of full‑service guest relations experience, preferably in a luxury hotel.
• Ability to speak a foreign language is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Front Office operating system.
• Experience with electronic payment processing.
