About the role

Diagonal is building a platform that personalizes software for SMBs. As a Founding Account Executive you will shape the go‑to‑market engine from day one, working directly with the founders to create a repeatable sales motion.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the full SMB sales cycle, from outbound prospecting to closing.
  • Source and qualify leads via cold calling, email, LinkedIn, referrals and creative outreach.
  • Conduct discovery calls and product demos tailored to each prospect’s workflow.
  • Build and maintain a personal pipeline while ensuring strong CRM hygiene.
  • Collaborate with founders to refine messaging, positioning and outbound strategy.
  • Gather customer feedback to influence product direction and GTM tactics.
  • Experiment with outbound tactics and sales processes to improve conversion rates.

Required profile

  • 2+ years of experience in SMB outbound sales or account executive roles at a SaaS company.
  • Comfortable with consistent prospecting and cold‑calling.
  • Strong discovery and demo skills, able to uncover pain points naturally.
  • Highly self‑directed, organized and effective in a remote environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Competitive, driven and excited by early‑stage startup dynamics.
  • Experience selling vertical SaaS, workflow or operational tools is a plus.
  • Prior startup experience, especially at an early stage, is a plus.
