Employment Specialist (Refugee Services)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Spokane seeks an Employment Specialist to help refugees and immigrants achieve self‑sufficiency through meaningful employment. Working under the Economic Wellbeing Program Manager, you will deliver case‑management and job‑placement services to newly arrived individuals and families.

Key responsibilities

• Provide employment‑focused case management, including intake, assessment, and pre‑employment orientation.
• Develop individualized employment and self‑sufficiency plans for adults and service plans for family members.
• Deliver group and one‑on‑one job‑readiness workshops covering essential U.S. workplace skills.
• Coordinate referrals to additional resources and maintain communication with DSHS case‑management staff.
• Identify and cultivate employment opportunities with local employers and community partners.
• Document all employment activities, outcomes, and compliance requirements for state‑funded programs.

Required profile

• Passionate, solutions‑driven individual committed to humanitarian impact.
• Experience providing case management or employment services to refugee or immigrant populations.
• Ability to work under the supervision of the Economic Wellbeing Program Manager and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
• Familiarity with state‑funded employment programs and compliance reporting.
