Educational Assistant - Tutor

About the role

The Educational Assistant – Tutor supports classroom teachers at Ridge View Elementary by facilitating learning activities and ensuring a safe, engaging environment for students. This role involves direct interaction with children, helping them with academic tasks and personal care.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in daily and long‑range lesson and classroom activity planning.
• Conduct learning exercises with individuals or small groups.
• Guide children to work and play harmoniously together.
• Alert the teacher to special needs of individual children.
• Provide escort and assistance to children throughout the building as needed.
• Maintain individual records for each child.
• Assist the teacher in keeping work and study areas neat.
• Supervise children during regular play periods.
• Collect and display suitable material for educational displays.
• Assist students with personal care and other duties assigned by administrators.

Required profile

• High School Diploma.
• Associate’s degree or successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment (score of 456 or higher).
• Ability to walk distances of 100 yards and perform light lifting.
• Reliability in escorting students and providing assistance throughout the school.
