Cybersecurity Engineer – NASA JETSII Contract

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Cybersecurity Engineer to support NASA’s deep‑space exploration initiatives through the JETSII contract. You will work with a diverse, high‑performing team to protect both terrestrial and space‑based assets, applying cutting‑edge cyber‑security practices.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct cyber threat modeling, identify critical trust boundaries and assess risk using adversarial tactics and techniques.
• Perform gap analysis and risk‑based assessments aligned with NASA’s risk management plan.
• Develop briefing material for senior leaders (SES civil servants) and communicate cybersecurity activities.
• Collaborate across agencies and industry partners on hybrid government‑commercial security solutions.
• Define system design requirements, including verification and validation, for spacecraft software, hardware, and networks.
• Provide engineering analysis, technical consultation, and issue resolution for multiple system domains.
• Execute cybersecurity impact assessments and coordinate remediation with external organizations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant cybersecurity experience.
• Eligibility for U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
• Experience developing data flow diagrams.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, Aerospace SPARTA, D3FEND or similar frameworks.
