Controller – Financial Reporting & Accounting Lead

About the role
The Controller will lead all accounting and financial reporting functions for Fortune Media, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the organization. This senior position partners closely with senior leadership to provide financial insights that drive strategic decisions and support the company’s growth in the media and digital content space.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to deliver timely, accurate financial statements.
- Prepare IFRS‑compliant annual financial statements and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
- Manage external audits and coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and other consultants.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
- Partner with FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development for the accounting team.
- Collaborate with department heads and senior management to track performance metrics and support growth initiatives.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (CPA preferred).
- 5+ years leading accounting teams and 10+ years progressive corporate accounting experience, preferably in a multi‑entity, multi‑state environment.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and experience managing financial reporting for a mid‑sized organization.
- Experience in media, entertainment, or digital content industries is strongly preferred.
- Proven track record in audit management, compliance, and internal controls.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence executives.
