Community Assistant – Student Living Hub

About the role

The Community Assistant supports the property management team at Greystar’s student‑living hub in Minneapolis. This entry‑level position focuses on administrative, leasing, and resident‑service tasks to help achieve occupancy and retention goals.

Key responsibilities

• Perform office administration such as copying, filing resident files, preparing notices, handling calls, and organizing rent payments.
• Assist with leasing activities: conduct virtual tours, respond to online inquiries, greet and qualify prospects, give property tours, and show apartments.
• Generate lease paperwork, organize lease files, and support move‑in and move‑out processes, including mandatory “turn” dates.
• Answer incoming calls, schedule prospect appointments, and conduct on‑campus marketing outreach to drive qualified traffic.
• Coordinate resident events, distribute communications (flyers, newsletters, surveys, late notices), and support resident satisfaction initiatives.
• Serve as after‑hours liaison, responding to emergencies and covering at least one on‑call shift per week.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service orientation with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and on‑call shifts.
• Detail‑oriented and capable of handling multiple administrative tasks efficiently.
• Interest in student‑living environments and community engagement.
