Bilingual Tax Preparer (English/Portuguese)

About the role

ACP Tax Advisory is looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join its fast‑growing bilingual team. The role involves preparing and reviewing a wide range of U.S. tax returns for individuals, businesses and cross‑border entities, communicating directly with clients in English and Portuguese.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual income tax returns (Form 1040) including Schedule C, Schedule E and itemized deductions.
• Prepare business tax returns: Forms 1120, 1120‑S and 1065 for LLCs, S‑Corporations and partnerships.
• Assist with compliance for foreign‑owned entities, including Forms 5472, pro‑forma 1120 and FBAR awareness.
• Collect documents, provide status updates and explain tax matters to clients in both English and Portuguese.
• Coordinate with the internal bookkeeping team to ensure accurate financial data before filing.
• Identify tax optimization opportunities and flag potential compliance risks.
• Maintain organized digital client files within the firm’s internal system.
• Meet all seasonal filing deadlines and extension dates.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of hands‑on U.S. tax preparation experience.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese for full client communication.
• Active PTIN or willingness to obtain one immediately.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client files simultaneously.

Required skills

• U.S. individual tax preparation (Form 1040, Schedule C/E).
• U.S. business tax preparation (Forms 1120, 1120‑S, 1065).
• Foreign‑owned entity compliance (Forms 5472, FBAR awareness).
• QuickBooks or comparable accounting software.
• Familiarity with IRS e‑file procedures and extension workflows.
