Assistant Stunt and Cheer Coach

About the role

The Assistant Stunt and Cheer Coach supports the development and success of Texas A&M University–Kingsville’s stunt and cheer programs. This position provides technical instruction, assists with recruitment and operations, and promotes a positive team culture grounded in leadership, accountability, and sportsmanship.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and conducting practices, workouts, conditioning sessions, and skill‑development training for stunt and cheer student‑athletes.
• Provide instruction in game‑day cheer, stunting, tumbling, pyramids, jumps, and performance routines.
• Support choreography, routine preparation, and competition/game‑day execution.
• Coordinate team logistics, travel, scheduling, and equipment management.
• Contribute to recruiting efforts and help retain prospective student‑athletes.
• Monitor academic progress, ensure compliance with university, conference, and NCAA regulations, and foster personal growth.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to coach stunt, cheer, tumbling, and related performance elements.
• Experience in recruiting, athlete development, and program operations.
• Strong understanding of NCAA compliance and academic support for student‑athletes.
• Excellent communication and mentorship skills.
