Assistant Professor of Chemistry (Tenure-Track)

About the role

The College of Arts, Sciences, and Education at Texas A&M University‑Texarkana seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Chemistry to join its faculty. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses, develop an externally funded research program, and contribute to departmental service.

Key responsibilities

• Teach assigned chemistry courses (lecture and laboratory), typically 9 credit hours per semester.
• Develop and maintain an externally funded research agenda.
• Contribute to curriculum design and course development within the Chemistry program.
• Collaborate with faculty across disciplines in the college.
• Serve on departmental, college, and university committees.
• Mentor undergraduate students in research projects leading to presentations or publications.

Required profile

• Earned Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Chemistry.
• Demonstrated ability to teach Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry at the undergraduate level.
• Evidence of scholarly research, recent publications, and success in obtaining external funding.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
