Assistant Manager Specialist – Affordable Housing Coordinator

About the role

The Assistant Manager Specialist – Affordable Housing Coordinator will ensure strict compliance with state and local affordable‑housing regulations for a 302‑unit garden‑style community in Kensington. The role works closely with the Community Manager and Assistant Community Manager to maintain accurate reporting and certification processes.

Key responsibilities

• Review, monitor, and report on compliance with all Affordable Housing Programs and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct property file audits, identify non‑compliance, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Verify weekly occupancy and recertification reports for accuracy.
• Assist with income and asset verifications, rent calculations, and household certifications.
• Track income limits and utility allowances, updating calculations as needed.
• Stay current on changes to local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., TCAC, HUD) and disseminate updates.
• Coordinate with HUD, Public Housing Agencies, state housing finance agencies, and other regulatory bodies.

Required profile

• Current experience in affordable‑housing compliance, including recertifications, leasing, and move‑in processes.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with management and regulatory agencies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Yardi property management software (preferred).
