Visiting Assistant Professor of Art (Sculpture)

About the role

The Department of Art & Design at Texas A&M University‑Corpus Christi seeks a full‑time, non‑tenure‑track Visiting Assistant Professor of Art specializing in Sculpture. The nine‑month appointment begins in Fall 2026 and supports both undergraduate and graduate programs.

Key responsibilities

• Teach three studio sculpture courses each semester for both BFA and MFA students.
• Manage the sculpture laboratory, including equipment, supplies, safety protocols, and facility upkeep.
• Supervise graduate assistants and adjunct instructors.
• Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum reviews, and faculty committees.
• Contribute to exhibition planning for campus galleries.

Required profile

• Active studio practice with a documented exhibition record.
• College‑level teaching experience in sculpture or three‑dimensional art.
• Commitment to collaborative, student‑centered education.
• MFA or equivalent terminal degree in sculpture or a related field.

Required skills

• Studio management and equipment maintenance.
• Implementation of health and safety procedures in a workshop environment.
