Utility Operator

About the role

Join Savage as a Utility Operator, supporting the safe and efficient operation of petroleum coke handling equipment at our Garyville, LA facility. You will work on rotating shifts, maintaining conveyor systems and assisting with dock operations in a dynamic, industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of the coke conveyor system and surrounding work areas.
• Shovel coke from sump pumps and under the conveyor.
• Use hand tools to perform minor maintenance on overhead crane buckets.
• Assist vacuum‑truck operations as needed.
• Check and maintain fluid levels throughout the conveyor system.
• Replace rollers on the conveyor.
• Record all maintenance activities accurately.
• Cross‑train on the Delayed Coker Unit and dock for backup and advancement.

Required profile

• Clear criminal history and ability to pass a hair‑follicle drug screen.
• Current TWIC card.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Team‑oriented with a focus on safety and detail.
• Read, write, and understand English.
