Tax Staff Accountant – Partnership Tax Compliance

About the role

The Tax Staff Accountant will join the firm’s Tax Department, supporting Tax Seniors in preparing tax work papers, estimated tax schedules, 1446 reporting, and non‑resident partner withholdings for a top‑tier international law firm.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare tax work papers for federal, state, and international partnership filings.
• Generate estimated tax payment vouchers for entry into the firm’s accounting software.
• Maintain Passthrough Entity Tax (PTET) and composite tax schedules.
• Prepare 1446 schedules for non‑resident partners.
• Coordinate with Tax Seniors and global office staff to ensure consistency of tax work papers.
• File jurisdiction‑specific returns such as LA Gross Receipts, Washington B&O, DC Ballpark Fee, and sales & use tax returns.
• Perform ad‑hoc duties and special projects as assigned.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience with U.S. partnership tax compliance, including federal and state filings.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required); Master’s in Accountancy or Taxation (preferred).
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and effective written and verbal communication.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline‑driven environment.
