Solder Technician – PTH & Selective

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Solder Technician specialized in through‑hole (PTH) and selective soldering to join our electronics manufacturing team. The role involves assembling printed circuit boards (PCBs) to IPC quality standards while maintaining a clean, ESD‑controlled work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Solder electronic components on PCBs using through‑hole techniques.
• Set up, operate, and perform basic maintenance on selective solder machines.
• Program, adjust, and monitor selective solder machines to control solder levels, temperature, and flux application.
• Interpret schematics, diagrams, and assembly instructions to ensure correct component placement and orientation.
• Inspect finished assemblies for workmanship and functionality according to IPC‑A‑610 standards.
• Repair solder defects such as insufficient solder, lifted leads, bridges, cold joints, and mis‑oriented parts.
• Maintain a tidy workstation that complies with ESD and safety requirements.
• Meet production quotas and delivery deadlines.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on through‑hole soldering experience on PCBs.
• Proven ability to operate and program selective solder machines.
• Comfortable using hand tools (soldering iron, tweezers) and microscopes for inspection.
• Strong visual acuity and manual dexterity.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to sit for long periods and lift up to 25 lb.
