Service Technician – Student Living (The Letterman)

About the role

The Service Technician for The Letterman student‑living community ensures that all building systems, grounds, amenities and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety and functionality. You will respond to resident service requests, perform preventative maintenance and prepare vacant units for new occupants.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders generated from resident requests, diagnosing defects and repairing them in line with company policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including pre‑move‑out inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, equipment and supplies, tracking usage and notifying the supervisor of re‑order needs.
• Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, performing general cleaning and painting curbs or signage as required.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing parts when possible and using materials efficiently.
• Participate in safety meetings and complete required OSHA training to comply with Greystar’s risk‑management policies.

Required profile

• Ability to diagnose mechanical or technical issues and perform repairs according to established procedures.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and make‑ready processes in residential settings.
• Familiarity with inventory tracking and vendor coordination.
• Commitment to safety standards and completion of OSHA training.
