Senior Communications Specialist – Internal & Executive

About the role

The Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station seeks a Senior Communications Specialist to lead internal and executive communications. This position plays a pivotal role in shaping strategic messaging, supporting leadership, and enhancing employee engagement across the engineering community.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the government‑relations team to create promotional materials that highlight the statewide and national impact of TEES initiatives.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute press events and high‑visibility briefings for senior leadership.
• Develop talking points, speeches, and presentation content for executives addressing external audiences.
• Design and implement internal communication campaigns aligned with strategic goals, fostering employee engagement and feedback loops.
• Monitor internal communication channels, gather sentiment data, and recommend improvements.
• Assist in crisis communication planning and ensure compliance with state and federal policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate, government‑relations, or executive communications.
• Proven ability to craft clear, persuasive messaging for senior leaders.
• Strong project‑management skills with experience coordinating multi‑stakeholder events.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience in employee engagement and internal communication strategies.
