About the role
The Research Assistant will support studies on epigenetic and transcriptional regulation in normal development and disease contexts. Working in a collaborative lab environment, the role involves cell‑based systems, animal models, molecular assays, and high‑throughput sequencing analysis.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain rodent colonies and perform rodent immune bioassays.
- Conduct experiments using cell culture, animal models, and molecular techniques.
- Assist with laboratory equipment maintenance and high‑throughput sequencing library preparation.
- Participate in weekly lab meetings and interdisciplinary collaborations.
- Provide technical support to graduate students and junior personnel.
- Contribute to research grant proposals and manuscript preparation.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related field (BS or MS preferred).
- Experience in developmental or cancer biology, cell biology, immunology, or related biomedical sciences.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Required skills
- Fluorescence‑activated cell sorting (FACS).
- RNA‑seq and next‑generation sequencing library preparation.
- Co‑immunoprecipitation (Co‑IP).
- Rodent immune bioassays with intra‑oral, intra‑venous, intra‑peritoneal, and subcutaneous injections.
- Cell culture and primary tissue culture techniques.
- Animal model handling and maintenance.
- Molecular biology assays and protein biochemistry.
- High‑throughput sequencing data analysis.
