Product Design Engineer

About the role

Pump is seeking a Product Design Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team. You will turn concepts into manufacturable products, balancing design intent, engineering requirements, and user experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design projects from concept through production, ensuring manufacturability and performance.
• Create 2D and 3D models using CAD tools and develop surfacing and top‑down design solutions.
• Prototype, test, and iterate designs rapidly to validate concepts.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define product architecture, material selection, and assembly strategies.
• Document designs, generate drawings, and communicate technical details clearly.

Required profile

• B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and willingness to take ownership of outcomes.
• Excellent verbal, visual, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 2D/3D CAD software (SolidWorks, PTC Creo, Fusion 360).
• Experience with surfacing techniques and top‑down design methodologies.
• Hands‑on prototyping and fabrication expertise.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, machining, sheet‑metal forming, and casting.
• Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
