Part‑Time Accountant / Bookkeeper for Interior Design Studio

About the role

We are looking for a highly organized, detail‑oriented part‑time accountant to support the financial operations of our interior design studio. The role is based in‑office and will ensure accurate billing, vendor management, and budget tracking across multiple design projects.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up‑to‑date financial records, including general ledger entries.
• Process accounts payable: vendor invoices, purchase orders, and design‑related expenses.
• Handle accounts receivable: client invoicing, retainers, and payment tracking.
• Reconcile bank and credit‑card statements monthly.
• Monitor project budgets, expenses, and profitability.
• Assist with monthly and year‑end close processes.
• Prepare concise financial reports and project cost summaries for leadership.
• Collaborate with the design team on billing, timelines, and vendor payments.
• Coordinate with external accountants for tax preparation and compliance.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in a project‑based or creative environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• QuickBooks (or comparable accounting software).
• Microsoft Excel – advanced proficiency.
