Nurse Practitioner – Telemedicine Abortion Care (NY/NJ)

About the role

Hey Jane is seeking a board‑certified Nurse Practitioner to join its telemedicine team delivering medication abortion care to patients in New York and New Jersey. The role is fully remote, allowing you to evaluate patients, prescribe treatment, and coordinate follow‑up from your home office.

Key responsibilities

• Review patients’ medical intake responses and determine eligibility for medication abortion.
• Conduct virtual visits via video, phone, or asynchronous messaging.
• Prescribe medication to a mail‑order pharmacy or arrange local pharmacy pickup.
• Respond to medical inquiries that require further evaluation and guide nursing staff on referrals and additional prescriptions.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA‑secure communication tools and documentation standards.

Required profile

• Active Board Certification and good standing to practice medicine.
• Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in New York or New Jersey (willing to apply for additional licenses as needed).
• At least 1 year of experience providing abortion or reproductive health care.
• Commitment to compassionate, non‑judgmental, patient‑centered care.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with telemedicine platforms.
• Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems.

What we offer

• Full‑time salary $135,000–$139,000 per year plus equity.
• Part‑time rate $72–$76 per hour (higher for Spanish fluency) with on‑call and weekend differentials.
