Maintenance Technician – The Russell

About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join Greystar’s property team at The Russell in San Mateo. The role ensures that the building, grounds, amenities and common areas are clean, safe, functional and meet Greystar’s standards.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident work orders and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and completing repairs in line with safety standards and code requirements.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant units, including pre‑move‑out inspections, creating punch lists, coordinating vendors, obtaining supplies, completing repairs and final inspections.
• Manage inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, track usage and notify the supervisor of re‑order needs.
• Complete all required documentation and paperwork accurately and promptly.
• Maintain grounds and common areas by removing trash, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, general cleaning and painting curbs or signage as needed.
• Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing parts instead of replacing them whenever possible.

Required profile

• 1–2 + years of maintenance, handyman, grounds or construction experience.
• Availability for on‑call duties and weekend work.
• Ability to follow established policies, safety procedures and local code requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document work accurately.
