Maintenance Planner

About the role

ATS is seeking a Maintenance Planner to support its industrial facilities across the United States, Mexico and the United Kingdom. The role focuses on evaluating work requests, developing detailed job scopes and ensuring that preventive and corrective maintenance is efficiently scheduled and executed.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate non‑emergency work requests, develop scopes of work and inspect job locations to define requirements.
• Estimate labor hours, skillsets, parts, materials, equipment and special tools needed for safe and efficient job completion.
• Gather technical documentation (drawings, schematics, OEM manuals) and verify part availability before scheduling.
• Maintain a prioritized work‑order backlog, keeping the Ready Backlog at or above 80%.
• Conduct weekly planning meetings with Production to set priorities and communicate status.
• Create weekly technician schedules that fully utilize available labor hours.
• Continuously improve job plans and use maintenance metrics to enhance planning effectiveness.
• Train site personnel on the CMMS and ensure data integrity.

Required profile

• Associate degree in a technical field.
• 1‑3 years of maintenance scheduling/planning experience or 5‑10 years as a machine repair technician.
• Familiarity with an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Electrical and mechanical aptitude.
• Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Microsoft Office suite.
