About the role
The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at the University of Michigan seeks a full‑time Lecturer I to teach Spanish courses during the Fall 2026 term. The appointment runs from August 25, 2026 through December 31, 2026, with the possibility of renewal.
Key responsibilities
- Teach three undergraduate Spanish courses, which may include sections of the Elementary Language Program or upper‑level courses in Peninsular Spanish, Latinx Studies, or Latin American literature and culture.
- Prepare syllabi, deliver lectures, and design assessments aligned with departmental standards.
- Hold regular office hours, attend departmental meetings, and manage routine instructional matters.
Required profile
- Fluency in Spanish and English.
- Prior experience teaching Spanish as a foreign or second language.
- Minimum of a Master’s degree (MA) in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
