About the role
The College of Dentistry at Texas A&M University Health Science Center is seeking a Lead Dental Assistant to join its Clinical Affairs department in Dallas. This full‑time, on‑site position supports a high‑volume dental practice and works closely with clinicians and administrative staff.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of dental assistants and support staff.
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for a variety of dental procedures.
- Maintain infection‑control standards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Manage inventory of supplies and dental instruments.
- Assist dentists with clinical procedures and patient care as needed.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional dental‑related coursework is a plus.
- Minimum six years of experience as a registered dental assistant in a private practice, clinic, or training program.
- Prior experience in a lead or expanded‑duty dental assistant role (3‑5 years preferred).
- Strong organizational abilities and flexibility in a fast‑paced environment.
Required skills
- CPR certified.
- Registered Dental Assistant credential.
- Knowledge of infection‑control policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with dental terminology and standardized dental procedures.
- Ability to manage supply and instrument inventory.
What we offer
- Proposed salary of $23.66 per hour.
- Full‑time schedule: Monday‑Friday, 8 am – 5 pm.
