Junior Front End Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Front End Developer to join the Military‑Civilian Transition Office (MCTO) team. The role focuses on building responsive, accessible, and high‑performance web components that serve service members, families, volunteers and program stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain user‑facing features for MCTO web platforms, including interfaces, surveys, evaluation forms and reporting dashboards.
• Ensure all web interfaces are fully compatible with current mobile devices.
• Collaborate with product owners, back‑end developers and other stakeholders to translate requirements into functional front‑end solutions.
• Integrate CMS capabilities so government administrators can create and manage content.
• Participate in user acceptance testing, track bugs and support remediation.
• Document front‑end components, UI changes and configuration updates.
• Follow DoW ASD STIG configuration requirements and OWASP secure coding best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 0‑2 years of professional or academic front‑end development experience.
• U.S. citizenship, eligibility for a DoD Common Access Card and ability to obtain a Tier 3 background investigation.
• Completion of mandatory training on CUI, OPSEC, privacy, IT security and insider threat within the first 30 days.

Required skills

• Proficiency in JavaScript.
• Experience with a modern front‑end framework such as React, Vue.js or Flutter/Dart.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub, Azure DevOps or JIRA in an Agile environment.
• Understanding of OWASP secure coding fundamentals and DoW ASD STIG requirements.
