About the role

Tarleton State University seeks a dedicated Instructor of Statistics to join its Department of Mathematics on a 9‑month, non‑tenure‑track basis. The position involves teaching undergraduate statistics courses, contributing to curriculum development, and supporting the university’s mission of inclusive, high‑quality education.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate statistics courses in face‑to‑face, hybrid, or online formats.
• Develop and update course materials, assignments, and assessments.
• Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Advising and mentoring students in the Department of Mathematics.
• Participate in departmental service, including serving as a Campus Security Authority as required by the Clery Act.

Required profile

• Terminal degree (Ph.D.) or master’s degree in Statistics or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at the college level.
• Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and student success.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without university‑sponsored visa assistance.
