About the role
The Head of Retail Expansion will lead the end‑to‑end growth of a high‑velocity eCommerce brand into major retail and wholesale channels across the United States and key international markets. Reporting to senior leadership, you will own the strategy, execution, and financial performance of the brand’s physical‑store presence.
Key responsibilities
- Define and drive the retail and wholesale expansion strategy for the U.S., targeting major national retailers in home, pet, and consumer goods categories.
- Develop go‑to‑market plans for each channel, covering pricing, packaging, promotions, and in‑store merchandising.
- Negotiate complex commercial agreements, including margins, co‑op advertising, slotting fees, exclusivity, and trade spend.
- Own the retail P&L, ensuring revenue growth, profitability, and alignment with corporate financial goals.
- Build and manage international distribution networks in the UK, EU, Canada, and Australia, handling partner selection and contract negotiations.
- Monitor sell‑through performance, reorder cycles, and assortment optimization to maximize visibility and revenue.
- Collaborate with supply chain, marketing, finance, and eCommerce teams for seamless retail execution.
- Establish scalable processes for forecasting, inventory planning, and partner performance management.
Required profile
- 8+ years of experience in retail expansion, wholesale, business development, or consumer‑goods sales leadership.
- Proven success taking a DTC or eCommerce‑native brand into major retail or big‑box channels.
- Strong background managing international distributors and launching products globally.
- Established relationships with retail buyers and category managers across major U.S. retail chains in pet, home, or consumer goods.
