Floating Community Manager (DC, MD, VA)

About the role

The Floating Community Manager oversees day‑to‑day operations for Greystar’s assigned multifamily communities across the Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia region. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures financial performance, compliance and resident satisfaction while coordinating on‑site teams and external vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with due‑diligence and takeover activities, including file audits, unit inspections and onboarding of new staff.
• Provide performance coaching and training to on‑site team members, delivering remedial and refresher sessions as needed.
• Contribute to budget development by analysing financial statements, marketing data and operational reports.
• Achieve revenue targets by overseeing rent collection, fee posting, bank deposits and monthly financial reporting.
• Approve vendor and contractor invoices, verify insurance certificates, code charges correctly and liaise between vendors, accounting and owners.
• Control expenditures within approved budgets and manage petty‑cash funds.
• Oversee lease enforcement, approving prospective residents and ensuring compliance with Fair Housing, ADA and other applicable regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in multifamily property management or community operations.
• Strong understanding of Fair Housing, ADA, Fair Credit Reporting Act and related housing regulations.
• Ability to analyse financial data, develop budgets and monitor performance metrics.
• Excellent communication and coaching skills for team development.
