Communications Manager – Social & Digital

About the role

Microsoft’s Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs team is looking for a Communications Manager – Social & Digital to shape and execute an executive digital voice strategy. The role focuses on Washington state policy, community engagement, and philanthropy, aiming to build a credible, human executive presence across social platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a modern social and digital strategy for executive voice aligned with policy, community, and philanthropy priorities.
• Continuously test and evolve content formats, platforms, and messaging to keep the executive voice relevant and trusted.
• Create and manage high‑quality, always‑on content including LinkedIn posts, threads, short‑ and long‑form articles, video, and innovative multimedia storytelling.
• Translate complex policy, legal, and community topics into clear, engaging narratives.
• Monitor performance and sentiment, using insights to refine strategy and voice.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in communications, social media, or digital storytelling.
• Experience supporting executive voice or high‑visibility communicators is preferred.
• Strong writing and editorial skills with the ability to simplify complex topics.
• Curiosity and willingness to experiment with new digital formats and platforms.
• Sound judgment in issue‑sensitive environments.
